Case Study 3 → Polyphony

Alex is an art enthusiast with an interest in immersive experiences. They heard about Casssiopeia from a friend and wanted to see how voice notes might be used to enhance interaction between visitors and artworks.

Visiting a gallery one weekend, Alex opens Cassiopeia to reveal voice recordings left by other visitors, hidden throughout the exhibition. They notice how the colours and shapes of the recordings look like artworks themselves as they dance across their phone screen.

Inspired, Alex uses the app to capture their own reflections on the exhibition, leaving thoughts behind for others to discover. They imagine how others might react to the thoughts they share—an interactive exchange of ideas that transforms the exhibition from a static display of objects into a lively conversation.

Through the app, Alex not only immerses themselves in the realm of contemporary art but also actively contributes to shaping the narrative and collective understanding of the exhibition. This innovative approach to the exhibition encourages deeper engagement between visitors and artworks while fostering a sense of community and shared exploration within the gallery space.
